We are doing well, but out obligations are much more.

 

Ø      We have received few suggestions on logo, Chandra (9160003633) is waiting for some more inputs from all of you.           

Ø      Our website is underway, contact Mr. Kiran (9885963132) for giving any suggestions.

Ø      We published pamphlets for old text books and clothes collection and distribution to poor. We got some response, but it is very meager. You can discuss with Shiva (9849866749) for improving our delivery mechanism and how to reach out to people.

 

In last two months we have got contributions of Rs. 5248 /- (2461 + 2787)

We are getting number of requests from needy to support for their education. But we don't have enough resources to meet all the requests.

 

Cheyutha Foundation is providing financial assistance to 4 children referrred / introduced by us. Apart from those 4 we had many requests, 2 are discussed below.

 

A child who studied 2^nd class in an English Medium school last year has joined in a govt. school due to lack of financial resources. Her mother is little bit mentally incapacitating, leading family by preparing and selling snacks. Her father had left the family two years past itself. She stood 2^nd in the class last year. I feel we should support her by providing good education in English medium school. Please send your opinion on it. It will cost us Rs. 2000/-

 

Another child from Vijayawada, had finished her Kinder Garden is not in a position to go to school further. Her father is drunkard and not cares for family. Her mother is leading family of 4 by doing as home maid in various houses. I feel we should support the child for education.

 

Similarly we are getting many requests, request you again to increase our network and introduce your friends by sending their mail ids in reply mail.

We had spent most of our memorable days in our school. Now our schools may be doing well or not. We know while we are about to finish schooling we are directions less.. we don't know to which stream we have to be in… what paths we have to choose to excel in what areas…. Old text books collection: We published 1000 pamphlets requesting people to donate old text books to us, so that we will distribute them to the poor school going children.
 
Website: Information required for building site is prepared. Preliminary draft is sent to you all, request you to give your comments and suggestions on it.

Registration: Bye laws and all statutory documents required for registration of our Foundation under Societies Act are finalized. We are getting signatures of all executive members, we may submit to Registrar in this month.

Old Text Books Collection

India has population of over 100 crores. With most of our population being working age group our demography is superb. But we are not in a position to utilize those human resources productively due to poor literacy ratio.

Our literacy rate is only 65 %. India will become developed only if our human resources are employable, which is possible only through increased literacy. Realize the importance of education to poor and join us.

More than half of our children do not have access to appropriate reading materials or supplemental materials leaving these children vulnerable to social, economic, environmental and public health problems.

To make our dream of an educated India, come true, we have to strive for increasing our literacy at all possible levels.

We distribute the old text books donated by you to the deserving students in various orphanages, physically challenged schools etc,

Keeping in view the rising problems of population and unemployment, the root cause for which is illiteracy and ignorance, we started activity of old text books collection.

Sub: Giving birth to an organisation to undertake humanistic activities

The following are the points discussed on 14-03-2009 evening in Rentachintala ST ground

Issues discussed

1. Chalivendram: Discussed about setting up of chalivendram in our home town. We know ours is one of the hottest places in AP. Chalivendram will be very useful for the needy to cool down their thirst in hot summer. We roughly estimated it will cost us about Rs. 15000/- to 20000/- for 3 months. It will be costlier for the organisation which has not yet born. Even we are not able to do it this year, keep our hands together to do it next year. Request Mr. Pedda Siva to do a detailed cost estimate.

2. Increasing member base through net: This is one which to be done immediately. Request all of you to reply me to this mail by marking a CC to those whom we can add as members. So that I can add them to our list.

3. Name to the organisation: Request every one to come up with the suitable names. We will finalise the name through regular mail correspondence or in our next meet. Please send names by reply mail.

4. Agenda / Probable activities of our organisation: (Everyone is requested to come up with additions or modifications to the below list)
Spreading awareness about importance of education
Women empowerment and abolition of child labour
Assistance to poor who are not able to continue primary education because of poverty
Seasonal activities like chalivendram in summer
5. Search for needy students and sponsers: Cheyutha foundation with which i am working has sponsered 12 poor students in 2008 academic year with fees for school education. For 2009 academic year it is planning to increase students to 50 and also finding sponsers. Please help out in finding students from our hometown and sponsers. Please dont give 100 % asssurance to the students as we will shortlist 50 deserved students out of the available.

6. Contributions : Mr. Pathi has evinced interest to start a fund for which contributions of even Rs. 100 /- a month consistently by us will be helpful greatly. Let us think over modalities for it.

See Cheyutha foundation with which I am working in Hyderabad has started 2 years back with very few people and now has member base in 100s (10 Active participants). You can visit it at www.cheyutha.co.in . I am just herewith forwarding the minutes of our last meeting. Things will not be done instantly it needs lots of planning, support, patience. Just with Rs. 10,000/- p.m of assured donations it is doing good job. See its achievements in its website.

1. Request every one to propose atleast 3 names for our organisation which is yet to be borned.
While searching for names, please check in google whether any organisation already exists with that name. Because few names proposed by our friends are already existing.

2. Request every one to introduce 2 to 3 people to our network. Search among our seniors, juniors, people from our home town, etc., ......... I CAN SAY THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT ASPECT OF ALL THE START UP ACTIVITIES. Please do it.

Request you all to spend 2 hours for the month March 09 for the above two activities.

While introducing new friends, make them aware of meetings of our first meeting in ST grounds and further correspondence. Fwd them our full conversation if u feel it is necessary.

We got nominations for Vennela and Pragathi. Of those Pragathi is finalised as more choosen for that.

With in short span of a month from starting organisation, we got good support.

Education for poor:
Last sunday I had a meeting with founders of CHEYUTHA FOUNDATION, Hyderabad.
They agreed to give financial assistance to poor people for continuing their primary education.
I am expecting Pragathi in collaboration with Cheyutha can meet needs of 10 deserving poor students.

Chalivendram:
We had analysed the pros n cons of setting a chalivendram.
As our financial sources are meger, Cheyutha foundation agreed to give financial assistance for this.
I had detailed discussion with Pedda Siva regarding cost of setting and utility of setting it.
On discussion with local people, he said it is not required, as water is free for those visting tea stall for tea.
But my Q is does all the people opt for tea on hot summer day ????

Please give your opinions on this aspect. We have to do it ASAP.

As this is election time I thought of writing an article highlighting the importance of voting.

Yesterday I had spoken to Prabhakar Rao Sir.......... I had a lengthy discussion with him .......... He assured of shortlisting students who are most deserving for financial assistance........ Not just students of our school, other school students also will be considered......

 

We generally think those who are affordable join in private schools and others will join in government schools. He says some parents are there...... who think children is their only asset and they work hard for providing good education to them, even they are struggling to get basic amenities......... 

 

Now I am 100 % sure, we can provide education to those deserved....

 

  

I think its better if we provide fees for about 2 students to cheyutha (ie., donating to cheyutha)........ then only it will be good for us to ask assistance to students of our home town......  Think a moment, that they are not even aware of home town and come forward to donate ....... Ofcourse number is not yet finalised.

 

Now we had more responsibilities to do....... Financial assistance to graduates (1 or 2) ...... assistance to school children ..... at the same time we need more financial resources...... 

 

We are 100 % sure, that each rupee donated to our foundation will reach most deserved..... We got that confidence........More resources is only possible through increased network.........

Request you all to let us inform others about your foundation....... n get more people to our network...... dont hesitate to do it....... n so many people are waiting for opportunity to help others to thier possible extent.... I am sure we can help most deserved.... 

 

Rougly our financial obligations as of now comes to Rs. 3000 (assistance to a graduate) Rs. 7500 (assistance to school students) ....... ie., 10,000 /- + ........ So we have to gear up buddys........

 

Till now to introduce our foundation to your friends, we doesnt have a specific programme......... Now we can do like this........ DONATE Rs. 300 /- pm AND EDUCATE A MOST DESERVING CHAILD....... I gave assurance to Prabhakar rao sir for financial assistance to 10 children.....

Why cant we take up this task with out assistance of other foundations...... I think its not a big task to get 10 people to donate Rs. 300 /- pm if we try sincerely n explain our intentions........

Mission statement should be around 3 to 4 lines, precise, informative........ see other NGOs mission statements

Guys logo, caption, mission statement are required while registering the society...... gear up your work to finalise them........

Hi..... Lawyer (pathi)...... can u make arrangements for registering our organisation as per the laws of land. Immediately look for what are the documents required for opening bank accounts. Please let us know under which act we have to register it, Societies Act, or any other act.

Hi.... Chandra........ we had finalised Name and in few days we will finalise the caption and logo....... can u check out wat are the requirements to build a website and get back to us.
Chandra one more task for you..... plz take lead for finalisation of logo, it needs many online brainstromming sessions among us......Atmost care to be taken while finalising it. Logo should have good depth but should not be difficult to grasp, should be simple n catchy, should be balanced ........ plz try out for it with in 20 days........ Think u r right to do it........

PK ...... task for you is...... to finalise the caption to our foundation..... like "letz join together for a better society" ........ its my thought...... similarly elicit views of others n finalise an caption........ plz do it with in 20 days............
Kishore (PK) has come up with new idea/suggestion..... why should not we support financial needs for educational purposes of graduates......... I am ok for that........ our main objective is to meet the requirements of poor for a good cause......... Infact PK opines, these graduates will contribute back to us once they started earning....... But first we will concentrate on school going children much........ n 1 or 2 graduates also....... for this year.........
I will send u the forms ASAP, which contains basic data of children for whom we have to provide financial assistance........

Malli / Vijay ....... can any one of u take task of maintaining database of our groups mail ids. If we send mails to pragathifoundation@googlegroups.com firewalls of many companies are restricting those mails, n not reaching all......... so keep database of mail ids of our group......... Our members will send you ids of prospective members........ update those in a file along with existing ones..........
Follow up with siva, he assured to introduce 5 new people to our group...........

Peddi reddy why dont u introduce our intermediate friends to this group......
